Design as the basis for integrated STEM education: A philosophical framework

STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—has become important as an educational construct phenomenon in recent years. However, it is only just recently that STEM education has begun to be examined from a philosophical point of view. There therefore need for further investigation its basis, particularly relation integrated (iSTEM). Recent conceptual empirical studies emphasize the crucial role design achieving successful integration, thinking also lately gained traction such integration. The aim this study investigate philosophy education, based on methodological backbone design. research methodology consisted critical review literature regarding (education), science, mathematics, research, related current issues integrating various subjects. We thus base framework from/on subjects education. It concluded view, holds promising affordances unifying through “pure problems”. Design part of, instance, particular engineering projects may consequently require “design” applicable scientific experiments well mathematics expressions formulae specifically when engaging technological modeling.
